Thank you for taking the time to review my portfolio. My name is Jack McIntyre. I’m from New York and am a graduate of Elon University where I majored in Professional Writing & Rhetoric. I am currently looking to enter the field of professional writing, and this portfolio is an indicator of my experience in a number of different genres.
My portfolio is divided into three main sections: Sports Writer, Copy Editor, and Multimedia Writer. I decided on these three topics since I feel they are the best representation of my writing style. They also show my proficiency in a number of different genres. At Elon, I served as chief copy editor of Elon News Network, Elon University’s student-run media organization, where I managed a team of seven editors and helped edit articles for the newspaper, The Pendulum. I’ve conducted research at Elon where I studied one of my favorite hobbies, sports, and social media and their interconnectedness and effect on communication. I also have pieces showcasing my aptitude to write using multimedia tools, such as infographics, videos, images, etc.
